Small Volume Composites Production
Composite manufacturing of small volume production is used for projects with very small volume and limited possibilities for economies of scale.
Project involvement may already have started in the engineering phase of the solution. Small volume composites production is often the best approach for the motorsport sector, where the work can start with the tooling design and ends with a small amount of modules which might get updated through the race season and where exceptions are the rule.
In addition, small volume production is suitable for niche manufacturers with annual volumes of between 50 – 250 sets per year.

Since 2008, Formtech Composites is on the journey with its customer to manufacture the world record breaking solar-powered stratospheric UAV where ultra-light weight is mandatory. The scope of work includes almost the entire aerostructure with more than 100 components and more than 1000 sub-components where in total thousands of operations are required to deliver a full aerostructure. The manufacturing of an aerostructure demands an extreme level of manufacturing procedures with comprehensive work documentations in place to achieve the product requirements.

Porsche - 935 special edition 70 years anniversary and RSR
Since 2015, Formtech Composites is qualified as a supplier to Porsche Motorsport where Formtech supplied into different race series: GT2 / RSR and LeMans LMP1 Race Serie. For the anniversary edition – Porsche 935 -Formtech delivered 50 sets of components per year over 2-3 years.
